  SPEAKING

Since The Raven's Gift was released, in January, 2010, I've booked 90 speaking engagements, including The Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Spiritual Film Festival in Sun Valley, the New York Explorers Club, and a Masters Tea at Yale University.

How can one presentation resonate with such a wide spectrum of audiences?

The Raven’s Gift has generated over-the-top enthusiasm because it reaches deep into our subconscious -- ancient environmental ethics told by a revered elder around the flickering light of a metaphorical campfire.

My talks are drawn from my experiences as an adventurer, a scientist, and a brief tenure in street circus.  Each one is specifically tailored to my audience.  On request, I have different speaker flyers for colleges, bookstores, adventures, and spiritual groups.  Although it is fun and challenging to alter my talk continuously, the core message remains constant:

Sample Praise for Jon Turk's Speaking

I saw you speak in Fort Bragg last week end and greeted you full of tears.  I wish I could have been more articulate at that moment, but was so struck by your presentation, and presence, I think the most Real thing I could do was just say hello, and express my gratitude.  I’ve had some time to think, and write however- and composed an email, as promised.

I want to thank you for being so open and real about your adventures up north, and your realizations throughout that journey.  It was your ease and fearlessness in conveying what you experienced that moved me so deeply, and struck a familiar chord in my own life.  Somehow you simply stating what you know to be true, makes my existence valid.

Jon Turk is an amazing and gifted storytelling who helps audiences understand magic through his fascinating experiences, that lie outside of our linear models.

Thank you so much for your very fine presentation at our Convocation. I have always believed that the aim of life is not only to experience all you can, but to become the type of person who inspires others to experience all they can. If I am right, then you can take pride in being a five star success. Your presentation is one of the very best that I have heard at our school in the past twenty years.

I’d be honored if you chose any of my books for your book club. Scrounge up a speaker phone, drop me an email, and if my schedule permits, I’ll join you for a remote discussion. Or if we’re really lucky and I’m in the area, I’d love to join you in person. Check my calendar of events.
